OffClass ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information we collect

• Account data: name, email, username, school, profile photo, and bio you provide when signing up or editing your profile.
• Content you create: events, community memberships, announcements, and anonymous posts you submit.
• Usage data: app interactions, device type, and crash/error diagnostics (via Sentry) to keep the app reliable.
• Push tokens: device tokens to send notifications you opt into.
• Contacts (optional): if you grant permission, we access contacts only to help you invite friends to events. We do not upload your full address book to our servers without your action.

2. How we use information

• Provide and improve the OffClass service.
• Authenticate you and secure your account.
• Send notifications you have enabled.
• Moderate content and enforce our community standards.
• Diagnose crashes and fix bugs.

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate the app (e.g. hosting, authentication, email delivery, error monitoring) under appropriate safeguards, or when required by law.

4. Data retention

We retain your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

5. Your rights

• Access and update your profile in the app.
• Delete your account in Settings → Delete Account.
• Control notification preferences in Settings.
• Revoke contacts or other device permissions in your phone's system settings.

6. Children

OffClass is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

8. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect changes.
